Record breaking Kansas City Chiefs star joins other former NFL players as CBD advocates for Kannaway Sports.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. portfolio company Kannaway recently announced its partnership with former NFL running back Christian Okoye. In his new role, Okoye will work with Kannaway to spread awareness of the therapeutic benefits of CBD, focusing specifically on developing relationships with athletes and those simply looking to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
“It is an honor to work with individuals like Christian Okoye who share the same goal of increasing education and awareness of CBD as a safe dietary supplement,” said Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. “We hope that this partnership will help clear up the many misconceptions people have about cannabis and CBD.”
During his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Okoye earned the nickname the Nigerian Nightmare for his punishing running style. Okoye played six seasons with the Chiefs, earning two trip to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Nagged by injuries, Okoye ended his NFL career after the 1992 season as the Chiefs all-time rushing leader.
Okoye recently became a vocal advocate for CBD after he was given some Kannaway products by one of his former teammates. Unsure whether they would make a difference, Okoye now eagerly promotes the use of CBD, adding Kannaway’s Gold Premium Hemp Oil, Pure Gold CBD liquid, and CBD-infused energy chews to his own daily routine.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with Kannaway’s many unique CBD products. I was skeptical at first but now I couldn’t imagine life without them,” said Okoye. “I hope my story can help spread awareness of the benefits of CBD so that athletes like me can feel comfortable giving it a try.”
Okoye joins former Kansas City Chief teammate Nick Lowery in advocating for CBD in the form of Kannaway’s top quality CBD oil products. The two players helped launch Kannaway Sports at the company’s recent national convention. The Empower event was hosted in Las Vegas from April 14-15.
Okoye and Lowery were both featured speakers at the Empower event, where the company announced its new Kannaway Sports initiative. On the Kannaway Sports page, visitors can find testimonials by Okoye and Lowery regarding their personal experience using CBD products from Kannaway.
“We’re thrilled to work with Mr. Okoye and to continue the conversation about the benefits that athletes like him are experiencing from using CBD,” said Kannaway CEO Blake Schroeder. “His personal story is a perfect example of how CBD not only can improve a person’s life, but also enable them to continue living the active lifestyles they have grown accustomed to.”
Kannaway has seen unprecedented growth since the start of 2018, setting company records for monthly sales revenue three months in a row. This comes at the heels of Kannaway having its largest year ever in 2017.
