Recognizing the need for a national cannabinoid market to create access to cannabinoids to as many people as possible, despite the legal challenges, Medical Marijuana, Inc. began researching ways to bring cannabis-based products to a wider customer base.
With federal prohibition and sporadic state laws keeping medical and recreational marijuana from much of the country, Medical Marijuana, Inc. looked for an alternative source of cannabinoids and found hemp. Cannabinoid/cannabidiol supplements created from hemp were a new idea, and we set about creating the industry and making CBD available to a new set of consumers.
With prohibition keeping medical and recreational marijuana from much of the country, Medical Marijuana, Inc. found for an alternative source of cannabinoids: hemp.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. entered the CBD supplement market with Dixie Botanicals™, a CBD hemp oil based brand that was rolled off from Dixie Elixirs, a popular medical marijuana brand from Colorado. Using our cannabinoid hemp oil pipeline, Medical Marijuana, Inc. was able to create a safe and reliable source of hemp to sustain the newly developed hemp oil supplement market.
First through dispensaries in medical marijuana states and then nationwide through online retailers, Medical Marijuana, Inc. began selling CBD hemp oil products to customers in all 50 states before moving their brands for international distribution in over 40 countries.
Although the Controlled Substances Act bans the cultivation of cannabis in the U.S., including hemp, it is legal to import hemp that contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. This hemp may be manufactured into finished products here in the U.S. and may be sold domestically to all 50 states, opening the door to a national cannabinoid market.
Because we were the first, Medical Marijuana, Inc. is sure to remain well within the regulations governing our industry. The 1994 Dietary Supplements Health and Education Act (DSHEA) prohibits supplement brands from making any claims that their products can diagnose, treat, or cure and disease or condition. To this end, we encourage our customers to research CBD and other cannabinoids for themselves and discuss starting any supplement with their doctor first.
