Help the Medical Marijuana, Inc. Family of Companies Celebrate Purple Day on March 26th

Medical Marijuana, Inc. is doing our part this Sunday to bring epilepsy to the forefront of international discussion. We are working to raise global awareness for epilepsy to honor Purple Day on March 26th, and we invite you to do the same by wearing your favorite shade of purple this Sunday to support those suffering daily from epilepsy.

By sharing information regarding epilepsy on our social media and websites this Purple Day, we are bringing attention to a condition that affects nearly 50 million worldwide, an estimated 1 in 100 people. We recognize the impact epilepsy has on the lives of those who receive a diagnosis and cheer advances in epilepsy research in the U.S. and internationally.

According to the Purple Day website, Purple Day is “dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness.”

Learn about other ways to get involved by visiting the Purple Day website. Official events this year will be held in the U.S., Brazil, Finland, Australia, England, Malaysia, Nigeria, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, and more. Participants on Purple Day are encouraged to wear purple, monuments around the world are illuminated in purple lights, and people everywhere engage in activities to raise awareness of epilepsy.

Diagnosed with epilepsy at 7 years old, Cassidy Megan felt different, isolated from others by her condition, so she decided find a way to bring the epilepsy community together and educate the public about seizures. “I wanted people around the world to come together and teach others about epilepsy,“ said Cassidy about her decision in 2008 to create Purple Day as a day to recognize epilepsy around the world. Since then, the day of awareness has grown into an international event.

The history of Medical Marijuana, Inc. has been closely tied to epilepsy over the years as we have actively supported organizations like Hope4Harper that are linked to epilepsy, treatment options, and research. We continue to support patients and their families through our charitable giving.

We hope that you will join Medical Marijuana, Inc. this Purple Day as we pause to acknowledge those living with epilepsy everyday and offer our care and support.
