Medical Marijuana, Inc. portfolio company HempMeds® just returned from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where the company participated in the World Medical Cannabis Conference and Expo this past weekend.
Hosted from Friday to Saturday, April 21-22, the event attracted medical marijuana patients and cannabis industry insiders and activists to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh for two days of networking, education, and advocacy with some of the biggest names in cannabis.
The event garnered coverage in regional and national news over the weekend, with the media focusing on the many health benefits of cannabis on display on the expo floor.
HempMeds® was a Platinum Sponsor for the weekend’s event, which comes at a critical time as Pennsylvania prepares to roll out access to medical marijuana in the state. Pennsylvania became the 24th medical marijuana state last April, legalizing access for patients with a doctor’s recommendation and a condition falling under the state’s official list of indications.
However, CBD hemp oil from HempMeds® is already legal and accessible in Pennsylvania, filling an important gap in cannabinoid access until regulated state access takes effect – or for those without pre-approved conditions.
With one of the event’s premier booths, HempMeds® welcomed attendees and the news media to sample our products and learn more about the many benefits hemp and CBD hemp oil hold for the human body, as well as the planet.
The HempMeds® booth and Dr. Stuart Titus, CEO of Medical Marijuana, Inc., the parent company of HempMeds®, were featured by a number of major outlets, including Pittsburgh’s News 4, CBS Pittsburgh, and Channel 11 News, bringing awareness to the role our companies play in Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana future.
Dr. Titus also shared his expertise with attendees on Saturday when he participated in the “Industrial Hemp & the Opportunities Outside of CBD” panel. Although CBD is a driving force behind a booming hemp industry, hemp can be used for products ranging from bioplastics and cattle feed to sustainable fiber and biofuel, making this an ideal topic for Earth Day.
Preceding Dr. Titus’ appearance, Andrew Hard, CEO of CMW Media, hosted a panel titled “Children and Cannabis” that gave a voice to families affected by CBD hemp oil. Among those who spoke were Penny Howard and her daughter Lilly Howard, Raul Elizalde, and Cassandra Stephan. These families chose to share their experiences as a way to help others in similar situations.
This giving back is a common theme among the members of the panel. Raul Elizalde started the Por Grace Foundation and Penny Howard began Hope4Harper with the same goal in mind – education and support for families who need it most. Since then, both organizations have become a source of inspiration for families around the world.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. and HempMeds® are proud to sponsor events like the World Medical Cannabis Conference and Expo. We are committed to educating the public about the role of CBD hemp oil in the medical cannabis conversation and to provide safe and reliable CBD products to customers around the world.
