The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new HempMeds® Mexico home office in Monterrey last week received coverage in over 140 news outlets, both locally and internationally.
HempMeds® Mexico officially put down roots in the country with the opening of its first local office on June 28th. The new headquarters will further allow the HempMeds® Mexico team to assist patients in Mexico access their prescription CBD oil.
During the event, HempMeds® Mexico also announced that Raul Elizalde, cannabis activist and founder of the Por Grace Foundation, would be taking on the role of General Manager. Elizalde spoke for a few moments during the ceremony, touching on the significance of opening the company’s first office in Mexico and creating a visible local presence for the HempMeds® Mexico brand.
An article in Forbes about the event revealed the challenges a new company entering the Mexico market will face – challenges HempMeds® Mexico has already successfully navigated to become the market leader.
“That is the strategy because with scientific research you remove all other doubts, because you can have registration of the products. Logically we also have to give these results to doctors to understand the characteristics of these drugs in the future, ” said Elizalde to Forbes.
HempMeds® Mexico’s new office will serve as the its hub for the sales, marketing, and distribution of THC-free RSHO-X™ and other CBD oil products to wholesale distributors and directly to patients in Mexico. The office’s central geographic location will serve as a strategic bridge between South, Central, and North America for our San Diego-based Medical Marijuana, Inc. home office.
In an article titled “Monterrey: From industrial city to medical marijuana mecca”, the Huffington Post discusses the potential size of the CBD market in Mexico, a market estimated to be worth over $1 billion (USD). With the experience of being the first company to ship CBD oil products to the country, HempMeds® Mexico is in a unique position to capitalize on Mexico’s growing CBD market.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. President and CEO Dr. Stuart Titus also spoke during a press conference that followed the new office’s ribbon cutting. Dr. Titus discussed the importance for HempMeds® Mexico to establish its first office in Mexico and the immense potential of the Mexico CBD market.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a symposium on CBD and the potential for cannabis to radically transform the way we approach a number of difficult to treat conditions. In attendance was Dr. Carlos Aguirre, who recently published the results of a study revealing the effects of CBD on childhood epilepsy. The symposium attracted over 100 doctors looking to expand their understanding of cannabinoids and their role in patient health. Community outreach events such as this symposium are central to the new HempMeds® Mexico office’s role.
The event in Mexico and HempMeds® Mexico’s role in the growing CBD oil market were also covered in outlets like El Universal, Bloomberg / El Financiero in both print and broadcast, 24 Horas, Noticias Toluca, and Milenio.
