Medical Marijuana, Inc. portfolio company Kannaway® has made several strategic moves over the past half year to position themselves and their teams for continued success.
Medical Marijuana, Inc. bought Kannaway over two years ago as an effective way to distribute and market our new category of CBD hemp oil products.
“Kannaway® had an excellent initial reception and had gained such momentum that, in December 2014, Medical Marijuana, Inc. decided to purchase the company because it’s word of mouth marketing would be the best way to get our message about cannabinoids out to the general public, “ said Medical Marijuana, Inc. President and CEO Dr. Stuart Titus.
Since then, the company has seen exponential growth, with its greatest strides coming in the past 6 months.
Earlier in the year, Kannaway® brought in a new CEO in Blake Schroeder. Before joining Kannaway®, Schroeder was responsible for global operation of the multinational organization ForeverGreen International, where he was the Chief Operating Officer. He brings his extensive experience in natural products with him to the Kannaway® team.
“We want Blake to be an integral part of many decisions and product strategies, as the CBD market remains well underdeveloped,” Titus added. “We are looking for him to provide strategies and contacts to expand domestic as well as international sales. We look for new life and energy with the Kannaway family with the addition of Blake to the company.”
Kannaway® has also hosted a number of successful events in the first half of 2016. These monthly “Red Carpet” events offer Kannaway attendees the opportunity to learn, network, and grow their businesses. Following two previous Red Carpet events in San Diego, Kannaway® hosted a successful event in Arizona and has an event upcoming in Colorado on October 15th. All these Red Carpet events are leading up to Kannaway®’s Genesis event in San Diego later this year on November 11th & 12th, which is aimed at relaunching the Kannaway® system.
Much of Kannaway®’s success has come from a renewed focus within the Spanish speaking community in the first half of this year. This focus builds on Kannaway®’s launch in Puerto Rico and Dallas in 2015 and events in Arizona and San Diego in 2016. While minorities have been largely been left out of the traditional medical and recreational marijuana markets, Kannaway® has ignited opportunity within the CBD hemp oil market for unchecked success.
Finally, Kannaway® introduced a unique new product in Rev!ve™ Pro-X to the Kannaway® line at their August event in Phoenix, Arizona. Rev!ve™ Pro-X is the first Kannaway™ hemp oil supplement to contain no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound in cannabis that gets users high. For the first time, Rev!ve™ Pro-X allows Kannaway™ customers to use cannabidiol (CBD) supplements without exposure to even trace amounts of THC.
The company’s creation of THC-free Rev!ve™ Pro-X demonstrates their commitment to innovation in their mission to bring healthy CBD to everyone. Following the successful launch of their zero-THC Rev!ve™ Pro-X, Kannaway® has created a schedule of new product rollouts this fall that will continue to keep their branding fresh and their products unique. They are also innovating improvements to several of their long-established products to better match their customer’s evolving needs.
Kannaway® will be continuing its regular events, culminating in their November 11th Genesis event in San Diego, and furthering the communication needed among their team of brand ambassadors going forward to build a knowledgeable, experienced sales team. Part of this is a revamp of their onboarding process for new members to shorten the time it takes for for them to reach their goals.
